How to hope together

Being a community of life for tired workplaces
Fri 23 Oct 2020

Topics

With many people feeling the fatigue of 2020 sometimes it’s hard to hope. Especially when workplaces face threats of reduced staff numbers (or others have lost work already), employers are uncertain about how to get people back into their workplaces, and the threat of COVID-19 returning remains. And yet of all people, we have reason to hope! But how do we hope when we don’t feel hopeful? What might our hope look like to tired workplaces? And how might we hope together to bear witness to the difference God has made in our lives? Watch Andrew Laird (Life@Work National Manager) show how 1 Peter answers these questions, and provides three practical steps to how we might hope together. This event also includes a Q and A and an inspiring story from a men's affinity group.

Questions for your EPT:

What is one aspect of work that you have found especially tiring this year?

"“In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” 1 Peter (3:15)

1) 1 Peter 2:21-23 talks about Jesus' behaviour on the cross. What was His hope in? What is ours (see also 1 Peter 1:3-4)?

2) How do we display hope? What sort of actions should animate our lives because of our hope?

3) How would you respond if someone asked you about your hope? What would you say to them?
