Melbourne Prayer Walk | City Bible Forum Plus

Fun Greek fact! The greek word for walking - peripataō - means both literally "to walk around," but also "to live"!

With that in mind, this August 5th to 9th, City Bible Forum is hosting Prayer Walks in four locations across Melbourne. It's a chance to "pray on location" using our five senses to sharpen our prayers for the city of Melbourne and its workers.

It's also a chance to pray with other prayer teams! Like getting a tiny glimpse of how God is already at work through his people scattered across Melbourne. And for those who aren't in the CBD, why not still do the prayer walk and report back - let's all hear how God is moving beyond the city!

What is a Prayer Walk?
Prayer walking is the practice of praying on location, a type of intercessory prayer that involves walking to or near a particular place while praying. The idea is to use the five senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—to sharpen the intercessor’s prayers. It is a chance to look up, so that we can pray more specifically about what we notice happening around our workplaces.

It’s also an opportunity to get outside and disconnect from things that distract us from praying; a chance to unplug from the noise of modern work life and “just start praying” together with other Christians in the midst of the working week.
