At a time when the role of faith in public life is being questioned and challenged, the National Prayer Breakfast is an important opportunity to join together with the Christian community across Australia in recognition of the many shared values and aspirations we hold for our nation and her people. In light of the apostle Paul’s call to “pray for all those in authority”, we also encourage you to reach out to your local MP on a regular basis, and to host a table at the Prayer Breakfast for your local faith leaders and invite your MP to join you.
When we pray to our God and Father, we are reminded of our own frailties, our need for forgiveness and of the solemn responsibility of using power for the benefit of others. We pray that men and women in national leadership will discover a new strength through the fellowship of the followers of Jesus Christ, and that they will know God's wisdom and strength in all their service.
