Why would a good God allow so much suffering? Surely if he was able to bring it to an end then he would have done so already? As a believer Don Carson has struggled with these questions personally, as an academic he has engaged with them with rigour and as a pastor he has seen the hope a Christian perspective can bring. This is an event for anyone wrestling with this important question.

Don is currently a Research Professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois where he has worked since 1978. He is married to Joy and they have two children. Among his many books, Dr Carson has written The God Who is There, The Gagging of God and How Long, O Lord? Reflections on Suffering and Evil.
